COVID-19 Update: December 1, 2021
Dear Community First Health Center Patients and Community Members,
With the increase in COVID-19 cases in our communities and the state, Community First Health Centers would like to remind our patients, clients, and community that we are continuing to do our best to deliver safe patient care and a safe work environment for our team.
Please remember that we require anyone entering our buildings to wear a mask and encourage you to utilize our hand sanitizing stations. We also ask for your patience as we are navigating staffing shortages as well. We will continue to do our very best to keep you informed of appointment wait times or challenges we may face.
For our dental clinic patients, if you are not feeling well, please contact our office to reschedule your appointment. Due to the nature of dental care, the risk of spreading many different illnesses is heightened; and while we have put many precautions in place to ensure we limit the spread of germs in the office, the easiest way to prevent this is to stay home when you're not feeling well. We will work with you to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible once you are feeling well.
For our behavioral health patients, please contact our team if you're not feeling well. We may be able to reschedule an in-person visit or transition your visit to a telehealth visit so you can still receive care virtually.
For our medical center patients, if you're experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness, please inform our team prior to entering the building. We would like to provide extra care when bringing you into the building to see the doctor. This will help keep you comfortable and ensure we are limiting exposure to other patients.
For our Maternal-Infant Health Program (MIHP) clients, please contact our team prior to your home visits if you or a member of your household are not feeling well. We maybe able to transition to a telehealth visit or will work with you to reschedule the home visit to ensure we are limiting exposure.
For our WIC clients, if you are not feeling well, please contact our team to reschedule your visit or you may request to change your visit to a telephone appointment instead of coming into the office.
Community First Health Centers is also offering COVID-19 testing at our three medical centers in Algonac, New Haven, and Port Huron. If you've been exposed to someone who has tested positive or you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we encourage you to schedule a test. COVID-19 symptoms include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
Our team of medical providers also encourages vaccination against COVID-19. Vaccines provide protection from COVID-19 and help to prevent serious illness from COVID-19. Community First offers vaccinations for those 12 and up. We are currently offering vaccine boosters as well. If you're interested in being vaccinated, we encourage you to sign up online [click here] or call 586-270-8055 and follow the voice prompts for vaccinations.
Thank you for patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this pandemic. We are working hard to keep you, our community, and our staff safe and healthy.
Your team at Community First Health Centers
